friday flashback: electric correspondence machine

In 1967 the Philco-Ford Corporation made an industrial titled "1999 A.D." which predicted that fingertip shopping will be one of the homemaker's many conveniences…and an electric correspondence machine will allow for instant written communication between individuals anywhere in the world. If only they'd also been right about flying cars and robot maids.

I love the way Dad is aggravated with Mom's spending.

And it gets even better, Bob. @hmargulies pointed out the Dad is Wink Martindale (tv game show host) and VO is Alexander Scourby (actor: Big Heat, Giant and VO for King James Bible) Where did I find out? He told me on Twitter. Proof that tweets aren't ALL about what somebody's having for breakfast ;)

He was on the Joker's Wild only a few years later.

But you're wrong about the robots, Honda is doing amazing stuff in robotics. Soon they'll be making our beds and scooping our cat boxes.

@auntie-- Joker's Wild! That's the game show I was trying to remember. Thanks. Can't wait for those self-scooping catboxes.
