day at the beach: u-haul needed

Remember when going to the beach meant bringing a towel and maybe a sunhat? Writing this while reunioning with family members, parked on a beach, surrounded by chairs big as barcaloungers, delivery wagons, baby's play yards and sun domes the size of a circus tent. Hey, here comes a couple wearing backpacks so big, they might be training for a mount of Everest. Ta, off to ride waves on a float the size of Tortola...

We don't have a car and people keep giving us the "you're having a baby and have no car????" look all the time. I think people have too much stuff these days--so I sympathize with having delivery trucks lug the house out to the beach!

Teenie, I sympathize, too. We had a kid and no car for years. 8 years. Which is how long it took to get off the waiting list for a garage spot in our building.

yes, I remember...no kids, no worries. It was great!

Off the subject, what's your take on Radio Shack's new incarnation as The Shack?

I think it's the dumbest thing ever, changing a brand like that. And I heard they just posted great returns in second quarter when theyir competitors took losses. Can you say "New Coke"?
